New Hampshire House Republicans, led by Speaker Sherman Packard, sent a letter today to the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation calling for them to side with COVID denier extremists over public health and science. The letter specifically calls on the delegation to oppose COVID-19 public health efforts by the Biden Administration. House Republicans.
On WMUR Close Up on Sunday, Governor Chris Sununu’s Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut admitted that the school voucher scheme passed into law by Sununu and his Republican majorities in the State House may cost the state an additional $6.77 million this year alone – or a 5,257% increase over what Sununu’s administration told lawmakers to expect.
Today Governor Chris Sununu once again made it clear he is unwilling to stand up to the COVID Denier Caucus, refusing to publicly call for universal masking or pursue options to ensure it, even though COVID cases are spiking in New Hampshire.
The news from Tennessee is deeply troubling. Sununu and his Republican majorities in the State House have already emboldened white nationalists and other far right actors to disrupt local school board meetings and target educators for providing students with age-appropriate curriculum regarding our nation’s history and present. Every student deserves to learn about our country’s history, good and bad, and to engage in conversations about our future.
The Reproductive Freedom Fund of New Hampshire, Granite State Progress, Kent Street Coalition, the NH Handmaid Coalition, and other supporters of reproductive rights hosted a “Our Bodies, Our Access: Stop Sununu’s Abortion Ban” demonstration and press conference to denounce Governor Chris Sununu’s outrageous and cruel abortion ban in the state budget.

Amendment is yet another attempt to whitewash American history and limit important conversations on systemic racism and sexism
HB 542 originally blocked the Governor from imposing a ban or limit on in-person gatherings at places of worship during public health or other states of emergency but was amended in the House to also include a provision giving businesses and employees a license to discriminate against others, particularly LGBT families.
