The White House estimated that passage of the jobs plan will create or save 16,000 jobs in New Hampshire over the next two years, provide a ‘making work pay’ tax cut of up to $800 for 590,000 workers and their families, make 9,000 families eligible for a new American Opportunity Tax Credit to make college affordable; offer an additional $100 per month in unemployment insurance benefits to 57,000 workers in New Hampshire who have lost their jobs in the recession, and provide funding sufficient to modernize at least 28 schools in New Hampshire so our children have the labs, classrooms and libraries they need to compete in the 21st century.
