TODAY, The New Hampshire AFL-CIO will host a press conference call with reporters throughout the state to discuss how the Wall Street Crisis will impact New Hampshire’s working families. The discussion will be led by New Hampshire AFL-CIO President Mark S. MacKenzie. Joining MacKenzie on the call will be Josh Bivens, Economist with the Economic Policy Institute; Maurice Emsellem, co-Policy Director of the National Employment Law Project; Gail Kinney with the New Hampshire Building and Construction Trades; New Hampshire Sierra Club Director Catherine Corkery and Eddy DeBlois, United Steelworkers (USW) Local 75 worker.

“New Hampshire’s working men and women deserve to know how this economic crisis and any potential bailout will impact their families,” said President MacKenzie. “Congress needs to act swiftly and pass a second economic stimulus package to help ease the burden on working families, but they must also include important safeguards for taxpayers in any prospective bailout.”
