Nashua, New Hampshire – Community activists, issue advocacy groups, and others will form a ‘Coalition of the Waiting’ outside of John McCain’s town hall in Nashua today.

“Senator McCain is out of touch with Americans feeling the economic crunch,” said Zandra Rice Hawkins of Granite State Progress. “Instead of prioritizing domestic issues, his plans offer no real help for families who are suffering, and instead focus on more tax cuts and less regulation for wealthy corporations. John McCain once admitted he doesn’t really understand economics, and it’s apparent he still hasn’t done his homework.”

The ‘Coalition of the Waiting’ draws from a cross-section of those negatively affected by McCain’s Senate track record of poor or no-show votes, including working parents, veterans, nurses, teachers, construction workers – and even a polar bear.

“Senator McCain talks about the Coalition of the Willing,” Rice Hawkins said. “But what he really needs to start thinking about is the growing Coalition of the Waiting at home who are anxious to get our country back on track.”
